Spiritbox drop Mourning — first new song since Tsunami Sea

On September 7, Spiritbox released the single Mourning and a video with it. It is the first original song since the second album Tsunami Sea (March 2025, Pale Chord / Rise). There is no title or date for a new record. The press line calls it a first look at what comes next.

The clip was co-directed by guitarist Mike Stringer and Alex Bemis. Axia Serradimigni shot it. Stringer, Bemis, and Grant Bozigian edited. It leaves the black-and-white look of the Tsunami Sea cycle for color and outdoor locations, plus a hooded figure. The song sits on the melodic side of the band: Courtney LaPlante’s clean vocal first, then the weight.

Debut album Eternal Blue (2021) hit No. 13 on the Billboard 200. The EP The Fear Of Fear brought back-to-back Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance: Jaded (2024) and Cellar Door (2025). Tsunami Sea added a third, Soft Spine. That album opened at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums and No. 26 on the Billboard 200.

A UK/EU headline run with Jinjer and Dying Wish starts September 12 at Glasgow SEC Hall 3. September 19 is London OVO Arena Wembley. The last date is October 9 at Paris La Seine Musicale. The North American run supporting Evanescence is done. In November they play with Metallica at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut. December is Good Things in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.

Separate from this single: If The Sun Burns Out Tonight is due September 16 as the Valorant Champions Tour anthem. That is not a Spiritbox band release. It is LaPlante with Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes and producer Grabbitz. The song is not out yet.
