Beartooth drop Pure Ecstasy and a video for Beautiful Again

On August 28, Beartooth released their sixth album, Pure Ecstasy, on Fearless Records — the band’s first full-length after more than a decade on Red Bull. With the street date came a new video for Beautiful Again, directed by Zebulon Griffin.

The record was announced in May. Free opened the cycle; the title track followed with the album reveal. August 28 was the drop, not another teaser.

“This song is about destructive habits and destructive patterns, thinking that they were going to help me out. It can be a tough one to listen to. It’s wrapped in early-to-mid 2000s emo because that was such a good way to express that feeling of being stuck. That’s really what Beautiful Again is: maybe if I’m just a little bit more fucking terrible to myself, I’ll finally get it and I’ll finally love who I am. It’s a look in hindsight of, ‘Dude, what have you been doing? What result did you expect?’”

For years Shomo built Beartooth almost alone. Pure Ecstasy is the first time he didn’t. Jordan Fish (ex-Bring Me The Horizon; also Poppy, Architects) co-produced with Shomo and bassist Oshie Bichar. Fish and Shomo wrote Free, Beautiful Again, Eyes Closed and Lose You to Find Me in a handful of days. Periphery’s Misha Mansoor helped birth the title track. Guitarists Zach Huston and Will Deely and drummer Connor Denis are on the record with him.

“Song one is always a crucial part of an album to me. It’s gotta lock you into the vibe out of the gate. Pure Ecstasy was birthed in a studio with Misha Mansoor, ridiculous loudspeakers, and the dumbest heaviest chugs we could chug. Once it was brought home and expanded on with Jordan Fish, there was no question it was the album opener. Play loud and kick ass.”

Eleven songs after 2023’s The Surface: the title cut, Eyes Closed, Bullshit, Beautiful Again, Stadiums, Free, Sorry, Lose You to Find Me, You, For Me by Me, I Made It.

The tour starts September 17 in Frankfurt. Silverstein and Kingdom of Giants open Europe and the UK through October 6 in Glasgow (London is Brixton on October 3). North America runs November 11 in Boston to December 19 in Wheatland, California, with Don Broco, Magnolia Park and Windwaker. Australia with Fit For A King and Volumes begins January 26, 2027.
