Nickelback back in NHL: Burn It To The Ground lands on NHL 27

On September 3, EA Sports unveiled the soundtrack for NHL 27. Nickelback are on it with Burn It To The Ground. The game arrives September 11 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini is on the cover.

The song is not new. It comes from Nickelback’s sixth album, Dark Horse (2008, Roadrunner). EA already used it on NHL 10 in 2009. After that it kept living in sports: the WWE Raw theme from 2009 to 2012, a goal song for the New York Islanders, and a touchdown song for the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys.

For the hockey series this is a return, not a debut. The lineup is the same as it was then: Chad Kroeger, Ryan Peake, Mike Kroeger, Daniel Adair. The band’s last studio album is Get Rollin' (2022). They have not announced a fall 2026 tour.
