Three Days Grace drummer Neil Sanderson sits out the kit on the Alienation tour
On October 23, 2026, Three Days Grace drummer Neil Sanderson posted a video. He will not play drums on the fall leg of the Alienation tour. Blabbermouth says he ruptured the bicep tendon in his left arm. Emergency surgery is set for October 27. Former Breaking Benjamin drummer Shaun Foist is filling in behind the kit. Sanderson stays on keyboards and backing vocals, but he is missing Houston on October 25, San Antonio on October 26, and Rogers on October 28. He did not say how it happened.
“Hey, guys. Neil here. As some of you may know, when I’m not on tour with Three Days Grace, I’m an outdoorsman. I’m a woodsman, and I love nature. But sometimes nature gets the best of you, and that’s unfortunately what’s happened here.”
“Without getting into details, I fully ruptured my bicep tendon off the bone, and I need emergency surgery, which is happening Tuesday. So the bad news is I’m not playing drums on this tour. The good news is, is I am playing keyboards and backup singing on this tour, and we’ve brought in Shaun Foist to fill in on drums.”
“Unfortunately, I am missing three shows due to the surgery that’s happening in a few days, so I won’t be in Houston, San Antonio or Rogers, Arkansas, which bums me out. But I’m gonna get this done, get it fixed, and be back on stage and on keys, backup singing, and we’re gonna make it fun.”

The tour supports Alienation, which came out in 2025. It is the first Three Days Grace album with two lead singers. Adam Gontier left in 2013, then rejoined and shares vocals with Matt Walst. I Prevail and The Funeral Portrait are opening the fall leg. Sanderson is a co-founder, the drummer, and a backing vocalist.
