The Pretty Reckless release About You with Dave Grohl and Pat Smear

On October 16, 2026, The Pretty Reckless released a bonus version of About You. The original is on their fifth album, Dear God, which came out in June. On the new version, Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl plays drums and sings, and Pat Smear plays guitar. The release also credits both of them with additional instrumentation and backing vocals. Consequence describes Momsen on the verses, Grohl joining the chorus, and a call-and-response between them in the bridge. The video arrived on October 19. It follows the band on the road and in the studio. No director is named.

“We wanted to give you a glimpse into our world, from life on the road to moments we share in the studio. ‘About You (Bonus Version)’ is a little piece of that journey. But at the core, it is all about YOU. The fans who make it all possible. You’re the real stars of this one and we thank you.”

Taylor Momsen

Momsen had already talked about the recording itself, before the video.

“‘About You’ is one of my favorite songs on the record, so I wanted to do something special. I called Dave and Pat and asked them if they’d lend their magic to it. It was an amazing time in the studio making music, there’s nothing better than jamming with friends. I couldn’t be happier with the result.”

Momsen, Ben Phillips, and Jonathan Wyman produced Dear God. The single When I Wake Up became the band’s ninth No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, the most of any female-led act. The North American headline run for the album is finished. The band is preparing the European leg. No dates are listed in the write-up.
