Amira Elfeky opens a trilogy with Breakdown

On September 30, 2026, Amira Elfeky released Breakdown, her first solo single of the year and the first chapter of a trilogy. The song arrived on Anemoia Records / Atlantic with a video. No album title was announced. Her previous solo track, Hold Onto Me, came out in September 2025. In June 2026 she appeared on I Prevail’s Paradise, a collaboration that reached No. 10 on Billboard’s rock charts and spent 11 weeks on the chart.

“‘Breakdown’ is chapter 1 in the trilogy. Breakdown is about wanting to change, but being too exhausted to take the first step. It’s about hating where you are and how you feel, yet longing for brighter days. It’s about wanting to reach that breaking point and final crash that forces everything out to the surface and finally pushes you forward.”

Harry James Gilmour, known for his work with Bring Me the Horizon, produced the track. He co-wrote it with Elfeky, Sophia Brenan, and Oscar Kenny. In the hook she asks to “Give me a breakdown.” A couple of weeks before the release, Elfeky wiped her Instagram and came back with a clip of a pink silk sheet floating in the air. It ended on the line “Chapter 1: The Dream” and the caption “this is going to be a nice dream.” The old moody palette gave way to sugar pink.

Cori and Zacksta directed the video from a story by Elfeky. She wanders a forest beside a pink-haired figure, gets pulled into a lace dance that leaves bruises, and meets a unicorn.

Elfeky had been booked to tour Europe with I Prevail this fall, then pulled out. She cited “unexpected logistical reasons out of our control.” Her next live set is Sick New World on October 24 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, on a bill that includes System of a Down, Deftones, and The Prodigy.

She started as a solo artist with 2023’s Tonight (Demo), now past 46 million Spotify streams, then the debut EP Skin To Skin. In 2024 she teamed with Scarlet House for Remains of Us. In 2025 she covered the fall issue of Revolver and released the six-track collection Surrender, including Will You Love Me When I'm Dead. Along the way she sold out headline shows across North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, and Australia, supported The Used, Story of the Year, Bring Me the Horizon, and Motionless In White, and played Louder Than Life, Rock am Ring, Pinkpop, and Download.
