A Killer's Confession release Roses and close the trilogy. Victim 3 arrives November 13
On September 18, A Killer's Confession released the single Roses and its video. It is the first song from their sixth album, Victim 3, out November 13 on MNRK Heavy. The band is led by Waylon Reavis, former Mushroomhead vocalist. Dusten Boles directed and produced the clip.
Roses is about disappointment and recognition that never arrives. Instead of a heavy riff, the track sits on dark electronics and a melody. Reavis frames it as giving up on outside approval, rather than as self-pity.
“Roses was written from a point of view of where everything that you have done was in vain. We’ve all been to that point of feeling unappreciated, but I feel like Roses is a statement of it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you and only you know why you did it. In the end, never look for a pat on the back, because you’ll never get the acknowledgment that you’re seeking. There will be no roses on my grave.”

Victim 3 closes the trilogy after Victim 1 and Victim 2. The lead is a vigilante who picked off people he judged to be society’s worst offenders. On the new record he is on death row. What began as a warped sense of justice turns into something darker: morality, vengeance, and accountability meet, and the ending offers no redemption. The One is unhinged aggression, Meat Hook is a violent groove, and Worth Saving is the final resignation. Eleven tracks in all. The album was written in Nashville and Denver around Reavis, Evan McKeever, and Dusty Boles.

Track five is a stripped-back version of The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights. It was already out on its own, shortly before Roses: the heaviness is dialed down so Reavis’s voice and the song’s melancholy sit in front.
The band formed in 2016. The press release cites tens of millions of streams, including Numb and Angel On The Outside, and collaborations with Korn’s Brian “Head” Welch, Mudvayne’s Chad Gray, Gemini Syndrome’s Aaron Nordstrom, and Reavis’s former Mushroomhead bandmate JMann.
The Everything Comes Full Circle headline run crosses North America from November 4 to December 5, with Dizasterpiece and Dead Things in support. It opens at Chapel of Bones in Raleigh and ends at Mercury Music Lounge in Lakewood, Ohio. On November 13, the day Victim 3 comes out, the band plays The Fox Den in Louisville.
